Bondi’s Healthiest Brunch Spots

Bondi’s Healthiest Brunch Spots

Any traveler looking to experience Australia’s beach culture will no doubt find themselves rubbing shoulders with the hipsters, yogis and gluten-free vegans of Sydney’s Bondi Beach. And beyond the eye-candy provided by famous lifeguards and vet’s in the area (they know who they are…), Bondi also boasts some amazingly healthy organic, paleo, gluten-free and vegan brunch spots to indulge in between swims.

So, after lots of research and a whirlwind long weekend of eating and exploring, my favourite healthy brunch spots in Bondi (with accompanying sneaky iPhone snaps) are:

Bondi Beach – the place to be after a brunch-induced food coma.

Bondi Wholefoods, Bondi Beach

30a Hastings Parade (on the corner), North Bondi Beach
All organic, sustainable and use locally sourced products. Lots of paleo, gluten free and vegan options.

The cafe at Bondi Wholefoods was by far my favourite place for brunch. Their all-organic menu is huge and they are so happy to make any adjustments to their meals to accommodate dietary needs. My obsession with turmeric latte’s was born here but I’ll save that for another blog. There were heaps of paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and sugar-free options on the menu.

I had the gluten-free granola, mixed fruit salad and coconut yoghurt for breakfast and Jesse feasted on the work-of-art pancakes (pictured). They were covered with delicious fruits, maple syrup, chia jam and chocolate coconut ice-cream. Talk about food envy…

Beyond brunch, head here for breakfast, lunch, snacks or even an early dinner.

Pancakes for breakfast can be healthy right?

Henley’s Wholefoods, Bondi Junction

310 – 330 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction (downstairs)
Paleo inspired, real food cafe with gluten free and vegan options.

Henley’s Wholefoods is attached to a gym so there were lots of healthy gym peeps grabbing a post-workout snack when we visited. The menu is really quirky and creative and they cater for the full spectrum of dietary preferences. The staff are also really happy to make modifications to your meal.

I sampled the pumpkin and hazelnut bread, topped with zucchini slices, smoked salmon and coconut yogurt. Jesse had the paleo shepherd’s pie with a side of the most delicious sweet potato wedges – go here just for these.

Head here for brunch (obviously) as well as breakfast, lunch, snacks or drinks.

Head downstairs for brunch-date heaven.

Earth to Table, Bondi Junction

85 Bronte Road, Bondi Junction
Organic, raw vegan cafe.

The best brunch-time desserts in Bondi, in my opinion, can be found at Earth to Table. This raw, vegan cafe has a massive selection of drool-worthy treats on the counter at the front of the store. As always, I had the carrot cake and sampled their organic raspberry and chocolate mousse torte. I wish we could have visited daily, but the time we did was pure bliss.

As far as my search for the most scrumptious healthy carrot cake in the world goes, this one was probably top 3. Watch out though, Earth to Table are not open Mondays and Tuesdays – don’t get caught out like I did!

Head here for breakfast, lunch, brunch, snacks or drinks.

Carrot cake to takeaway… yes please!
